Getting Started With Computer Audio

We are hard core audio enthusiasts
Channel D was the first computer audio software company to exhibit at the famous international Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, long before audiophile interest in computer audio had blossomed (let alone even begun to bud) and continued as the only computer audio software company at audiophile expos for several years. Integrating vinyl LP playback (with Pure Vinyl™) always has been an important part of our expo demos, which have always included both vinyl and digital audio music sources.

Continuing through 2016, we have mounted and hosted more audiophile trade show demonstration rooms than all of the other computer audio software companies combined. This proves our continued committment to developing innovative products, demonstrating them under stressful and demanding trade show conditions, and insuring that they deliver the highest possible performance.

Sitting behind a desk and cranking out computer code is a cakewalk compared to tackling the challenge of proving product performance (not to mention demonstrating our credentials as high end audio enthusiasts) by setting up great sounding exhibit rooms despite the terrible acoustic environment on the level but difficult playing field of an audiophile trade show, where products are carefully scrutinized by attendees and the audio press alike, and the proof is in the listening.

The above list of audio expo demo rooms mounted by Channel D doesn't count the companies who have chosen to use our products in trade show demos. When you see Pure Music being used at a trade show, you can rest assured that it's because the exhibitor independently chose Pure Music, not because we solicited them or enticed them with a "freebie." Many thanks to the many companies who have purchased our products at full retail price to use in their trade show exhibits.
Chronology / Milestones:
- December 1995 - Channel D founded
- December 1996 - *DeltaVideo is released; world's first video motion detection and motion tracking software for a personal computer
- June 1997 - *Mac the Scope audio signal analyzer software is released and demonstrated at MacWORLD Expo, Boston
- December 1998 - *Waavebox audio signal generator software is released; first demonstrated at MacWORLD Expo San Francisco, January 1999
- December 2002 - Work begins on Pure Vinyl™ software
- February 2006 - *AudioLeak loudness measurement software released (now used world-wide by the broadcast industry)
- June 2006 - *Pure Vinyl™ is released
- October 2006 - Channel D hosts our first demo room (Room 517) at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest in Denver, featuring Pure Vinyl™
- August 2007 - The world's first high resolution stand-alone (not bundled with a computer) audiophile music player software released: the new built-in "Link with iTunes" music file player mode of Pure Vinyl, demonstrated at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, October 2007
- November 2008 - Our innovative (with an unprecedented -3 dB, 5 megahertz bandwidth) ultra low distortion rechargeable battery powered balanced *Seta® Phono Preamplifiers begin shipping
- March 2010 - *Pure Music® software is released and demonstrated at AXPONA
- June 2010 - U.K. Patent GB2454106 granted to R. Robinson / Channel D for Pure Vinyl's cue guide image creation technology
- May 2011 - World's first DSD-capable audiophile music server software released; and world's first audiophile music server software with streaming support ("Playthrough / Streamthrough" feature) for Spotify, Qobuz, etc.: Pure Music version 1.8, demonstrated at Newport Audio Expo, June 2011
- May 2014 - U.S. Patent US 8,738,163 B2 granted to R. Robinson / Channel D for Pure Music and Pure Vinyl's proxy file playback technology
- July 2014 - U.S. Patent US 8,793,580 B2 granted to R. Robinson / Channel D for Pure Vinyl's Cue Guide image display
- April 2015 - *Lino™ Moving Coil Phono Preamplifier Ships

- October 2016 - Pure Vinyl Version 5 preview is demonstrated at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest
