"The Birds" (with apologies to A.H.)

This unedited QuickTime movie was exported from a DeltaVideo capture file, recorded by a colleague. The movie chronicles the action from 00:00:00 to 06:25:00 at a bird feeder, and has been compressed and reduced (original details are not resolvable) from its original size to quarter-frame, using the JPEG-A QuickTime movie codec (blur = 1). Note the "gaps" in the recording (denoted by the time stamp); recording of video only occurred if motion was perceived in the camera's field of view (here, the "hot spot" for motion tracking included the entire frame). House finches are responsible for most of the action. ATI Xclaim VR capture card, standard NTSC-output Matsushita CCD video camera were used. A single frame of the movie is presented for preview; however, it may take several minutes (1.8 MB) for the full-motion QuickTime movie to appear, depending on current Internet traffic. You will need QuickTime with the JPEG-A codec to view the movie. The movie has been updated to take advantage of the streaming features in QuickTime 4.0.
